Social Activities

Joe Onativia has been organizing trips for St. Catharine's parishioners for 20 years. In that time, he has arranged over 200 trips to Broadway Shows, Westchester Dinner Theatre, Elmwood Theatre in Nyack, Restaurants on Arthur Avenue, Little Italy, Chinatown, Baseball Games, Army Football Games, Sight & Sound Theatre, the Botanical Gardens, Tours of New York City, Brooklyn, Bronx, and numerous other places! Joe is one of the nicest, most dedicated, and hardest-working people you'll ever meet. We are blessed to have you in our Parish, Joe! Thank you, and God bless you!

Joe's Reviews are almost as much as his trips! Here's his review of our May 17 trip to see "La Cage Aux Folles." "On May 17, St. Catharine's Church and the Blauvelt Free Library rented out the Elmwood Theatre in Nyack for the Tony Award Winning "La Cage Aux Folles." The Show was the highlight of the year. We had 88 people attend the Show. The Theatre holds 99 people. Everybody loved the Show and the wine and cheese before the Show. La Cage Aux Folles tells a story about family values and, above all else, love. The show was very entertaining with great music, dancing, costumes, and lighting. The Cast, who are mostly from this area, was excellent. We got to meet them after the Show and had pictures taken with them and also a celebration with wine and cheese. It was just a fun night. Special thanks go out to Barry, Alice, Donna, and Rose from the Blauvelt Library. Without them, I never could have done this trip. Thanks to Monsignor McAree and Patti in the Office. She is always a big help with the xeroxing, mailings, and getting it advertised in the bulletin. It was a "feel good show" with everybody going home happy."
