Altar Servers

All 4th grade (and up!) girls and boys are invited to become Altar Servers. If interested, please contact Deacon John Jurasek at (845) 365-3618 or Mary Anne Pagnani at (845) 358-0739.

Altar Servers have a very important role at Mass. Servers carry the cross, the processional candles, hold the book for the Priest Celebrant when he is not at the Altar, carry the incense and censer, assist the Priest when he receives the gifts from the people, wash the hands of the Priest, and assist the Priest Celebrant and Deacon as necessary. A Server also rings a bell as a signal to the faithful.

Servers should be mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry them out well and with appropriate reverence. They should have already received Holy Communion for the first time and receive the Eucharist whenever they participate in the Liturgy.

Servers are scheduled for regular Sunday masses, as well as, Holy Days, funerals, weddings, and any other special events. We will work around your schedule for vacations, family events, sporting events, etc.

Generally, the younger servers are assigned for service on weekend masses, weddings and funerals. However, we are also in need of a steady roster of adults, male and female, for our weekday masses as well as weekday funerals. Currently, there are a few individuals who step forward to serve for us, but we would like to increase their number. Please contact the Parish Office at (845) 359-0542 if you are able to serve our parish in this special way.

To get more information, please check the weekly bulletin, use our contact form or give us a call at (845) 359-0542.
