PREP Registration

Hello Families,
Registration for the 2024-25 school year opened on Thursday, April 11th at 9:30 am. By now you should have received an email from Parish Giving. If you have not received an email, please contact the PREP Office at (845) 359-4014 to be sure we have your correct email address.

We will continue to follow the same schedule as this year. We will be in session for grades 1-6 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The times will not change. Students will arrive by 4:45 pm and will be dismissed at 6 pm. Classes are expected to begin the week of September 16th. There is an option for Sunday, which is a Family Program. Family members must be in attendance and full attendance is mandatory. If your child is making a Sacrament, we ask that your child participate in our weekly program. If you are interested in discussing this program further, please contact the PREP office.

Our 7th grade program will continue on Monday evenings beginning Monday, September 30th, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

Our 8th grade will begin in early October. More information will be provided as we get closer. Commitment Mass/Meeting is tentatively set for Sunday, September 29th.

The fee schedule will be as follows:
One student: $180.00
Two students: $260.00
Three students: $310.00
Four students+: $360.00

Communion Fee ($ 75.00 per child) and Confirmation Fees ($100.00) will remain the same.

Please know that we are always looking for catechists and volunteers. Please ask us about discounts for those who teach our students. Please let us know if you are experiencing a need or financial hardship. We will work with you. Each of us has different needs in different seasons.

As a reminder, we utilize the Parish Giving System as our contact database in case of emergency. God forbid your child has a situation while in our care; we will contact mom or dad first (unless otherwise documented) followed by the third contact. We ask that when you populate the database, the emergency contact should be a third person who will be available in the event mom and dad are not. Also, please be sure to populate any relevant medical information on the Parish Giving System.

If you are entering a sacramental year, please upload your child’s baptismal certificates. If your child received sacraments at a parish other than St. Catharine’s, we ask that you provide these documents as well. Mother’s maiden name is also required as part of your child’s Permanent Record Card. This information is recorded in a special book in the main Parish office.

Last but not least, please be sure that your primary email address is listed in the space provided for contact # 1. Correspondences will primarily go to this email address.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO PARENTS OF FIRST GRADE STUDENTS
In order to properly prepare for the Sacrament of Holy Communion, students must complete both First and Second Grades in our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP). Please phone the PREP Office at (845) 359-4014, for information and instructions to register.

Thank you for making the commitment to provide your child(ren) with a religious education. Please be assured that the Staff at St. Catharine’s PREP, our Pastor, Priests and the Catechists in our Program are dedicated to helping your children grow in faith and be closer to God.

Each year we are graced with cooperative, collaborative and participative Parents such as you, who help make the PREP Program vibrant and dynamic. As Parents, you are the primary educators of your children and are their best teachers. Your children learn the most from the example you set when you pray together and actively participate in Mass and the sacraments as a family. It is an awesome responsibility to bring your children to mass each week and I know you are up to the challenge.

We encourage all our families to attend the 9:30 AM Family Mass on Sunday mornings, and to have your children celebrate the Liturgy of the Word in a way designed just for them.

If you have any questions, please call the PREP Office at (845) 359-4014.

Very Sincerely Yours,

Bernadette Kowalchuk
Director
