A TASC "Midnight Run" Thank You! At about 8 PM on Friday evening, April 21st, a busload of St. Catharine’s Teens, along with Rita & Rich Sarubbi, the Directors of our TASC (Teen Association of St. Catharine’s), headed in to distribute food, clothing, blankets and personal care items to the homeless poor on the streets of New York City for their latest Midnight Run. These late night relief efforts create an environment of trust, sharing, and understanding. That human exchange, rather than the exchange of goods, is the essence of the Midnight Run mission. In the past, our Teens have said that the experience deeply changes their hearts and minds. Thank you, Rita & Rich Sarubbi. And, thank you to the Blauvelt Fire Department for the Bus, and Mike Conklin for driving it. And, to all of the generous St. Catharine parishioners who contributed. It was a wonderful success and the men and women we met were so thankful and sent God’s blessings for all that we gave them.
TASC would like to thank the Parishioners of St. Catharine's Church for their generosity with our Palm Cross fundraiser on Palm Sunday and for their continuing support for the Teenagers of St. Catharines. Donations will be used to support Catholic Retreats, Conferences, Council-wide picnics, etc. Thank you and God bless you for your generosity.
TASC members received a wonderful letter from the New York/New Jersey Veterans Affairs Health Care System - "On behalf of the Veterans and Staff at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, I would like to thank you for your donation of Valentine's Day cards and candy. The cards have been distributed throughout the facility for our Veterans, Visitors and Staff to enjoy. It is your caring and generosity which enable us to care for our Veterans in the manner they so richly deserve. Your effort reflects the concern that you feel for our Veterans and for the service they provided to all of us while in service to our country. Again, on behalf of the Veterans and Staff at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, we extend our sincere appreciation to you for your donation and for remembering our Veterans."
